(Rough Draft)
A red skinned large horned creature with sharp claws is clawing at a training dummy and shooting a shotgun at other pop up cardboard cut outs, clearing corners like it's nothing. A purple feminine taller muscular battle scared creature is lifting 500 lbs. while it's tail with a heart shaped end is curling 250 lbs. A smaller pink creature with large eyes and big lugging arms, two pistols at it's side with it shooting at multiple targets in a short time span.
The red skinned creature commands, "Lilith, Silver. You two take a rest. We should celebrate our training with a drink!" He downs a bottle of whiskey. The creature with two large arms rolls his eyes.
The large arm creature sighs, "sir you always celebrate with a drink of whiskey. We haven't even had a client in this region yet."
The red skinned large horned creature smirks, "oh were going to get hired."
Lilith asks, "what makes you think other monsters will want to hire us anyways?" She sighs, "Jack; humans always need someone to kill but other monsters, most of them can do the job themselves."
Jack smirks, showing the jar. Jack laughs, "oh don't worry dear; we got a soul jar! Silver don't give me that look!" The large armed creature goes pale.
Silver groans, "where did you get that?"
Jack casually mentions, "human hunter died; so we got it now. I have to tell you, that demon was not pleased to see the soul jar escape it's grasp. So now we expand our clientele!" Silver shrinks into the ground praying to whatever god will listen. Jack picks him up shaking him.
Silver shakes Jack, "I am refusing to go on any mission involving that jar! Who knows what souls were gonna have to collect!" Silver assures himself, "we should be fine as long as you didn't advertise-"
Jack cheerfully cuts him off, "oh I blasted this ad everywhere!" Silver looks as if he's going to throw up as Jack slaps them down in a chair, showing an ad. In the ad the following happens.
Jack says, "hey you need help killing something? What? You already do a good enough job at that as it is?" He shows off the soul jar, "worry not! We got you covered in ways you could never think of before! That tricky demon from hell knocking down your door?" Lilith is shown stabbing a demon.
Silver looks betrayed with Lilith shrugging. Silver whispers, "why didn't you tell me you helped him!"
Lilith explains, "I was just asked to stab a demon, again. So I did, no clue about this commercial thing though." The two go back to watching the screen with Lilith walking away as Jack collects the demon's soul before it could go down into hell. In the background of the video monsters are dying left and right, turning to ash.
A young voice is heard at the door, "um is this the place? Your receptionist wasn't exactly being helpful... " Jack and the group turn to see a girl with bat wings, brown skin, freckles, dragon scaly fur wider face, and smaller body. She sheepishly squashes her body down.
Jack speaks up, "we can happily help you miss-"
She speaks up, "Scarlet; Scarlet Topaz, silly name I know."
Silver speaks up, "my name is Silver and I must say your name isn't silly, it's quite lovely." She blushes a bit.
Jack asks, "what services do you require?"
Scarlet meekly let's out, "I need you to trap an evil spirit; it's been cursing my families lands." Jack gives a thumbs up.
Jack takes out a knife, sharpening his claws with him saying, "we require an upfront payment two blue crystals." She hands the payment of two blues. Jack smirks, "two more after were done."
Scarlet sighs, "that's most of my crystal for this month... "
Jack wags his claw, "rule one of business; never let the seller know you're desperate." Silver punches his boss's right shoulder.
Silver sneers at him and says, "two blue crystals will be enough; after all, no need to get greedy." Jack rolls his eyes.
Jack gets a smug look on his face, "it'll be two blue crystals only if you join us and not run off during the job." Silver looks dead inside. Scarlet is thinking for a moment but softly nods. They're taken a back. She hands them a piece of paper and heads on out.
Silver pleads, "please don't do this to her sir!"
Jack laughs, "come on she'll get scared, run off and that will be that." He goes to head out the door.
Silver follows behind. Jack comments, "I thought you weren't going?"
Silver remarks, "if Scarlet is going then I'm going."
Jack nods, "alright then; you two get the supplies for the hunt ready, should be organized so it shouldn't be hard to find." Lilith opens the draw to see a bunch of weapons and artifacts just shoved in there willy-nilly. That meanwhile Jack is in a room with a big office chair, looking out the large window. He picks up his cell phone and dials the number, the crystal on the phone starts to go from a dull grey red to a bright vibrant red. A couple rings and someone on the other side picks up. He takes a heavy breath before speaking, "yeah, yeah doc I got your money for this month. How is her recovery coming along?"
The doctor says in a deep raspy smoker voice, "she's recovering just fine."
Jack asks, "can... can I talk to her?"
The doctor sighs, "you know she'll just throw my phone out the window again. Well if that's all you wanted to call about then take care Jack." The doctor hangs up. Jack grabs a bottle of whiskey from out under his desk draw and a revolver, looking over the gun but puts it away. Lilith opens the door with a black gym bag with gear inside.
Jack asks, "you two want to ride in my car?" Lilith points at herself with her tail picking up a motorcycle helmet.
Lilith tells him, "nah, Silver and are going to ride together. He's always wanted to ride a motorcycle so I figured I'd give him a ride there! Maybe stop on the way there and get us something to eat."
Jack raise his eyebrow, "oh you'll give him something to eat alright." She chuckles and gives a punch to Jack's shoulder. Jack rubs his shoulder. He asks, "do you want to hit up the Bar-arcade after work still?" She nods.
Silver shouts, "hurry you two!" Lilith picks up Silver with her tail. Silver wraps her arms around Lilith, following these two now.
Lilith asks, "hey Silver, you wanna john Jack and I to the bar-arcade after work? Each lost at the machine buy the winner a drink. What do you say?"
Silver says, "I'll be busy training."
Lilith groans, "ugh! You're always busy training!"
Silver shrugs, "I don't get what's the big deal; you and Jack have fun together, do you not?" They start to speed off on the motor bike, speeding down the paved road.
Lilith answers, "that's not the point; just live a little Silver, unwind and join others for outings why don't yeah?"
Silver scoffs, "me at outings, doesn't sound like my thing." He sighs, "uh Lilith can I ask you for some girl advice?" Lilith feels her heart skip a beat for a moment. They stop at a red light.
Lilith is quick to respond, "yes, of course."
Silver says, "I've never asked out a girl; I was wondering if you had any advice like what should I do. When I first saw Scarlet my heart skipped a beat." As soon as the light turned green she sped up and then went full throttle. Silver holding on tighter to her. They make a quick pit stop at a fast food joint, Lilith buying them both a meal with the two sitting down and eating.
Lilith asks, "what do you even like about the girl?"
Silver has a happy sigh, "the way she dressed, her shyness; I just wanna hold and protect her, you know?" Lilith angrily chomping down into her burger.
Lilith shrugs, "considering my wrath monster teachings; I don't think it's advised with other more generic monsters." Silver is taken a back. Lilith corrects herself, "overworld monsters." She drags Silver with her tail.
Silver relents, "you really need to stop dragging me with your tail." They get back onto the bike with a looming dread overhead as a sign on the road leads them down a dirt road, the bumps and turns on the road with growing tree roots on the ground raising up.
Silver shouts, "wait shouldn't we wait for our boss!"
Lilith snorts, "let the slowpoke catch up to us. Besides the faster we get this job done, the faster we get paid."
Silver protest, "I don't exactly have anything to shoot the spirit with!" They slow down and pull off to the side of the road. Silver snarls a bit, "what has gotten into you!"
Lilith poking his chest, "me? What has gotten into me? Come on, what has gotten into you!"
Silver runs his hands through his hair and sits down to calmly ask, "please, just talk to me; what is the issue?" Lilith turns her head away and looks down at the ground.
Lilith firmly mumbles, "nothing." The two silently wait a while until their boss finally shows up. Jack notices the two are moping about. They silently ride forward until they find the farm house with a spirit with a red aura slipping away. The girl chasing off the spirit with a scythe. The three go to see not traditional seeds but rather floating wisp over the dirt with roots coming from the orbs into the ground. The fiery aura growing around the different colored wisp as each one is given a white ethereal substance.
Silver joyfully shouts, "you're a soul reaper!" He corrects himself, "I mean soul farmer! You have spiritual essence you feed and make food for-"
Lilith spits out, "demons." Lilith has screams of a child bounce around in her head.
Scarlet happily looks to them and shrug, "well demons, spirits, warlocks, etc. I don't question who buys my goods." Lilith has her veins in her hands pulsing. Scarlet comments, "you know for a wrath monster; I thought you'd be happy at the idea of demons being fed." In one quick motion she goes to strike Scarlet to see Silver get in between the two, however by the time she notices, it's too late; the punch connects and sends him flying into a tree nearby. Silver is knocked out cold. She runs over to him to notice his jaw is broken, the jaw slowly fixes itself.
Lilith changes her tone of voice to something softer, picking him up, "Silver, are you okay?"
Jack rubs his chin, "so; you make a lot of money doing this?" Lilith stares daggers at Jack. Jack puts his hands up in surrender to say, "I would never do this kind of business though!" Silver is getting up to his feet hurt.
Silver ask, "boss; did you bring the tools we need to hurt a spirit?" Jack hands them guns, knives, a compass with a wisp, other weapons that look simple on the surface of it.
Lilith questions, "are you insane?"
Silver explains, "these weapons are infused with antimony for the alloy in the steel."
Jack pats Silver on the back proudly exclaims, "this is why I keep you around!" Jack takes the wisp compass pointing it in different directions. They follow the compass. Jack mentions, "we should split up."
Silver snarls, "no!" Panic in his voice, "we don't have a soul compass and were going to do better with a numbers advantage! Who knows if that thing has friends!" Scarlet puts her hand on his shoulder.
Scarlet remarks, "it's fine; you'll be fine. Besides as long as I have you by my side, I don't mind." Lilith clenches her teeth. Silver and Scarlet set off down the cornfield. Lilith with Jack.
Jack rolling his eyes, "why haven't you asked him out already?"
Lilith rage boils over with her shouting, "I have! I asked him to hang with us! To come with us after work and everything!" A loud slap can be heard.
Jack cackling, "are you really this bad at asking someone out?" Lilith punches Jack's shoulder, then calms himself, "look; you two, a date. Just outright ask him for a date. Not me being there."
Lilith has a worried tone, "if he says no?"
Jack dryly speaks, "well then you'll never find someone." A change of tone, "it won't be the end of the world. Then you two can be friends still." Lilith goes over what kind of woman Silver is looking for. Jack snorts, "well even then; it doesn't hurt to try, even if you're not his taste in women."
