Chapter 0
A man with silver hair looking out through the night time floating city as he walks through to notice a young woman screaming with a large man going to bring down it's large bloody ax onto her. The silver haired man zips forward, cups his hands and a red glow of light morphs out a red light pole to form into a bloody spear. He blocks the ax swing and watches the woman run off, the large furry beastly man zips towards her, ignoring the silver haired man until he feels himself being stabbed through the heart. The beastly man pulls the spear out and throws the silver haired man into a wall.
The silver haired man picks himself up and snarls like a feral beast. The man notices the red aura forming around the silver haired man, his eyes going from blue to red and scoffs. He asks, "what are you doing with trying to stop me from killing her?" In the moonlight you can see the man has red eyes that glare back at the silver haired man.
The silver haired man smirks, "I'm having my fun with you." The spear forms in his hands as he charges towards the man, disappearing before the man's eyes and stabbing him through the head, changing the blade of the weapon from a spear to a halberd. The silver haired man has his aura disappear and the eyes change to blue. He smiles to her, "don't worry; you're safe with me!" She screams in terror as she backs away from him, falling to the ground. The smile disappears as he walks away. The attackers body disappears forming into a red wisp-like orb that has bloodlust whispers. The silver haired man swallows down the wisp. The spear goes into his body and is inside of him. He goes to leave until it's too late, a net launched over him. He tries to form his spear until he realizes, "oh crap." Then tries to rip a part the net but gets shocked, his body going limp. Some time later to wake up in a chair with a man in armor and chains wrapped around his armor before him. The silver haired man scoffs, "so this is how you treat a hero?"
The man's voice booms, "a hero with an aura of a demon. How funny."
The silver haired man shrugs, "yeah well this demon should be put down, right?"
The man thinks for a moment to ask, "why did you save that woman?"
The silver haired man laughs, "save her?" He grins, "I wanted to feel the soul of that demon in my belly." The flicker of his eyes going from blue to red. The act he puts on his front with thinking about the countless reactions he's gotten in the past. The man can't help but laugh as he looks into the eyes of the silver haired man, letting him free from his binds. The silver haired man forms the spear in his hand pointing it at the armored man and snarls, "well War! What is so funny?"
War explains, "I can see your soul; you lie with every word." He claims, "you wanted to save that woman. This act you put up isn't going to fool me." He asks, "why did you save that woman?"
The silver haired man snarls, "I didn't want to save her! She just happen to be there!"
War scoffs, "and yet you didn't wait for the killer to eat her? Better yet; you didn't fatten up the killer to make his soul more powerful. You know how this works; the more a demon feeds, the more powerful their soul gets. The more powerful the soul they eat, the more juicy the feast." The silver haired man looks confused and lost for words. War has a puzzled tone, "wait, you didn't know? Oh, now things have gotten more interesting."
The silver haired man sighs, "yeah; yeah they have." He asks, "are you going to kill me?"
War rubs his helmet but casually speaks, "nah, you're free to go; however before you leave, I have an offer on the table for you."
The silver haired man replies, "no I don't want to become a Spirit Hunter."
War says, "no not that; I want to offer you a place to stay."
The silver haired man looks shocked asking, "why? What is in it for you?"
War says, "there was talks of a homeless man killing demons. That would be you, I assume at least. Regardless if you become a Spirit Hunter or not; you have a lot of learning to do before you could be effective."
The silver haired man rolls his eyes, "oh please my demon aura is enough to finish the job."
War remarks, "you think that and yet it's not; one of these days you'll encounter someone far too powerful for you. Someone you won't be able to just brute force."
The silver haired man asks, "why do you care about me? About what happens to me?"
War sighs, "you're not a demon; I know what it's like to be seen as nothing but a monster, a demon, a devil."
The silver haired man snarls, "I am a demon! I am a monster!"
War asks, "do you believe that or is it because everyone else calls you that?" He says, "beyond that aura; I see someone lost, someone broken; without a home." He groans, "right I forgot this part." A soft change to his tone, "what is your name?"
The silver haired man stops for a second with him saying, "Silver."
War remarks, "well Silver just think my offer over." He tells him, "there is a war starting up with the demons and evil spirits; were going to need all the help we can get." Silver walks away from him. The guards in armor move out of the way at the entrance, he walks through the halls thinking about the offer. A rumbling from his stomach as the thoughts linger on the offer. Silver thinks, "do I really want to go back to the streets and be sleeping and not having a hot meal?"
A girl with golden locks approach him with a warm smile, "oh you're the guy we dragged in, correct?" She happily says, "sorry about the net; I was just following orders, it's so good to see you up and at it!" She hugs him, Silver feels his ribs hurt, grabbing the ribcage.
Silver laughs, "the adrenaline must've worn off."
She asks, "may I take care of it?" Silver shrugs. She takes her hand, placing it under his shirt. A white golden aura glows from her hand. She grits her teeth from the pain, drooling a bit.
Silver with a concern tone, "are you...okay." He feels the ribcage to say, "wow; it's healed up!"
She answers, "I'm okay; just your pain was a bit much for me to take; not that I don't mind." She introduces herself, "my name is Elizabeth but you can call me Eliza!"
Silver letting his demon aura flow says, "the name is Silver; now if you don't mind I need to take my leave-"
She hugs him and the demon aura disappears with him thinking, "what the fuck is she doing? That usually gets women away from me." She says in a joyful tone, "thank you for helping that woman! If you weren't there she would've died."
Silver shrugs, "I was looking for a good meal; that killer's soul seemed like a good meal is all." He feels stun locked by her hugging him. He asks, "could you please let go of me?"
She questions, "why? It made your demon aura disappear."
He snarls, "so you did see it! Why would you hug me!"
Elizabeth gives a warm smile, "because someone who helps others like that; can't be a monster."
He angrily groans, "I was just looking for a meal-"
Elizabeth asks, "why didn't you eat her then? Why did you smile at her? You could've easily, overpowered her; why not strike her?" Silver doesn't reply. His stomach growls. Elizabeth getting distracted, "oh you must be hungry! Let me introduce you to the mess hall!" She grabs his arm, dragging him through the halls.
Silver shouting, "wait where are you taking me!" She brings him into a lunch room. A bunch of tables and other people. Silver asks, "what am I at a school or something?" She pulls out a lunch from a large fridge that has a hand drop a lunch bag into her hand. Silver notices people paying for food. Silver shrugs, "look I don't have money for food anyways so I best be going." Elizabeth pulls out the sandwich; splitting it in half, handing half to Silver.
Elizabeth has a cheery tone, "come on; take it!"
Silver asks, "what do you want for it?" The look at the yellow aura with a flicker of black as he thinks, "she is clearly hiding her true intentions."
Elizabeth laughs at this, "I want nothing for it." Meanwhile through the mirror in the main room War sits in with a man dressed in all black with a golden belt and emerald green eyes with a large scar down his right side looks to War.
War giggles, "I know if any woman could get Silver to join us; it's her."
The stoic man asks, "are you sure she could?" War points at Silver's aura that goes from being wild to calm. Silver takes the sandwich from her.
Silver holding back his tears of joy to casually say, "it's good I guess." That back through the mirror to the other side to see Silver look at her. A nagging feeling sitting in the back of his mind. She drags him through more hallways and areas. She shows off the outside area.
Elizabeth shouts, "this is the training area! We spend most of our time training outside! Well with my mentor at least we do. Oh I should introduce you to him when we get the chance!" She drags him elsewhere, Silver not fighting back much as he's whisked off to another.
Silver asks, "could you tell me where were going before you take me at least?"
Elizabeth giggles, "no silly I need it to be a surprise!"
Silver groans.
Elizabeth giggles, "come on I want to show you around!"
Silver shouts, "enough!" She looks shocked and stops in her tracks.
Elizabeth soften her tone, "what's wrong?"
Silver demands, "tell me what actually is going on! I might not be able to see your aura but I can feel it; you are hiding something from me! This nagging feeling is sitting in the back of my mind that you're hiding something from me."
Elizabeth thinks, "crap this guy is good; most people can't tell. I guess I have to pull this card." She starts to cry with Silver being caught off guard with this.
Silver begs, "no, no, don't cry! Come on." The pain in his eyes until the flicker feeling, the sense of dread going over him.
Elizabeth cries, "I thought we could be friends, and, and-" Silver walks away. She stops crying and shouts, "why are you walking away you jerk!"
Silver says in a monotone voice, "I notice the flickers in your aura; you're just another person lying to me, another person wanting to use me." Elizabeth grabs his arm, he turns around to face her.
Elizabeth sighs, "look; we desperately could use someone like you." She honestly speaks, "I don't think you're a monster; that when I saw you out there, I realized how others view and see you for something you're not because of what you can't control." She pulls up her sleeve to reveal a pentagram mark and devil pitchfork. She mentions, "my family were cultist; marked my soul for a devil down below; I'm seen as nothing but a tool to be used; well before I was." A genuine look of compassion in her eyes.
Silver relents, "fine; I'll stay." She drags him.
Elizabeth happily sings, "let me get the paperwork!" Silver is dragged into an office, filling out a bunch of paperwork until finally done with it. A huge stack of paperwork on the desk, looking as if his soul left his body after that. Silver has a wooden dresser come to life, start measuring his body and slap him into a uniform.
Silver stretches and yawns, "man I need some shut eye."
Elizabeth tells him, "oh the dorm rooms are this way, let me take you!"
Silver asks, "why are you putting up an act still?" She looks confused. He brushes this off, "never mind. Just take me already." Elizabeth starts taking him there but stops half way. Silver questions, "what's wrong?"
Elizabeth looking glum speaks, "it hurts my feelings that you feel like I'm still putting up an act. I'm sorry for lying to you before but it's hurtful that you don't trust me."
Silver looks away, choosing to look at the ground and says, "look I- it takes time with me, I'm not used to trusting people. I'm sorry for hurting your feelings and for not trusting you." Elizabeth hugs him which catches him off guard.
Elizabeth joyfully says, "I forgive you!" They're sitting there for a while with Elizabeth singing, "I won't let go until you hug me back-" Right then and there Silver hugs her back. They head off to the dorm rooms. A dorm key given to Silver; he plops himself onto a bed and thinks, "what did I get myself into?" As he experiences a nightmare; seeing the doctors, the needles, a younger voice coming out of him as he struggles to get out of their grasp with a red soul stabbed into his body.
